One Shoulder Velvet Top

Tis the season for velvet! I’ve been gravitating towards velvet pieces as of late and the only thing I can blame is that Christmas feeling. Velvet just screams HOLIDAY! Whether it’s black, blue, red, it automatically puts me in a festive mood. This one shoulder velvet top from Theory (c/o) was an instant YES for me. I love showing a little shoulder (y’all remember my semi obsession with off the shoulder back in the summer??). This is like the winter appropriate version of that. Not everyone is a fan of one shoulder tops. They can be a little harder to navigate but I’m all the way here for them.

For this look, I wanted to try something different instead of just wearing the top by itself. I love deconstructed outfits so I knew that pairing this with a white button down would give me that look I was hoping for. Since the upper half had quite a bit going on, I went the more simple route and paired it with my favorite pair of James Jeans that I literally have worn way too many times to even count. Yes to jeans that fit on thicker thighs!

It’s all about maximizing your wardrobe this season. Especially those pieces that are a little more on the pricier side, you want to make sure that you are getting the most out of that investment. This look can easily be transformed into something more dressy by ditching the white top. Switch out the jeans for a pair of wide leg pants, or a pair of flared velvet pants for a night out. A poppin red lip will have you holiday party ready in no time.

Until next time…
