I’m taking a non traditional approach with this Vday with this puff sleeve top + ruffle skirt look. When I wore the look a few weeks back, I knew I wanted to shoot it for the blog. I wore this skirt a couple of months ago (when I first cut my hair, funny enough). To be honest, I’ve been in somewhat of a funk regarding coming up with style posts. And just blog posts in general. In an effort to remain consistent, I’ve been putting out content at least 3-4 times per week. But doing so has sort of caused me to feel like I am running out ideas, and that makes me nervous AF.
Also, I am currently in a state where I am trying to be more financially savvy (Another “Journey to Financial Freedom” will be shared this week), so in an effort to be more smarter about how I spend my money, I’ve had to “cut back” on areas where I normally like to spend (clothes and food). And because I am not buying things as frequently, my closet feels stale as heck. I still enjoy shooting style content though so I’ve been forced to rework some of the items in my closet, and that’s where this look came from.
Because this top wraps around my body, I didn’t think that it would work with this skirt. But after playing around with it, I finally got it to a point where it didn’t look frumpy (win!) and I actually preferred the way it looked tucked in. This look is so fun and frilly and somewhat different than the other looks I’ve shared here in a while. For me, this is A LOT of color. But I’m not mad at it! I finished off the look with platform lace up heels (I think 2008 is calling, but I am answering!), and my new blonde do! I am loving it so far and can’t even remember what I looked like with black hair.
Here’s to working with and making the most of what we have. Instead of feeling the need to add more.
Until next time…
