To round out these fashion posts dedicated to my favorite era (see Part 1 and Part 2), I wanted to share this outfit that is both work and play time appropriate. I wore this to work last week with flats and it was a hit. I mentioned on my Instagram how I like dressing up for work, and I want to show how you can make work outfits fun, if you work in a more casual environment. This look reminds me of something that would be worn to a college lecture as a student, or even as a professor back in the day.
This rust satin skirt is such a versatile piece. I wore it while on a girl’s trip to Vegas with a sleeveless black wrap top and honestly, I will re-wear that entire outfit again if the opportunity presents itself. This striped shirt, which I scored from Forever 21, is a piece that embodies the “lux for less” look perfectly. It’s one of those items that work well with a variety of looks, which is my MO these days when I’m shopping. If I can’t make at least 4-5 different outfits with that item, then I don’t want it!
I saved this look for last because it is so ME. A top and skirt combo is something I feel 1000% comfortable in no matter what. I think it’s a mix of classy + sexy that makes these looks so inviting for me. Fair warning, there will be more top and skirt combos in the very near future happening on the blog.
I hope you all enjoyed this series as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I plan to do more of these focused around different trends/looks/pieces/fabrics to hopefully give you all some motivation in styling pieces you already have, or purchasing some staples for your closet.
Until next time…
