Affordable Things to Do in Los Angeles

This post is sponsored by Jam Jar Wines, but all opinions are, and will always be, my own. Thanks so much for supporting this blog!

It’s official guys, summer has ended. Although I expected myself to feel a little more sad about it, I’m actually very much ready for Fall, pumpkin spice everything (try the Pumpkin Creme Cold Brew from Starbucks…you’re welcome!), leaves turning colors, and all the warm and fuzzy things that come with the temperature starting to drop.

As we transition into the cooler months, you can definitely still enjoy the city, so below are 5 affordable things to do in Los Angeles:

Shop at the Farmers Market at Fairfax High School

This farmer’s market takes place every Sunday at Fairfax High School, right at the corner of Fairfax and Melrose. Although they call it a farmer’s market, it’s more of a flea market where you can do some vintage and local shopping. There’s a little bit of everything, for everyone. And it’s just big enough to where it doesn’t feel super overwhelming.

Picnic at Grand Park in DTLA

The weather in LA between September and October is the perfect time to have a picnic at the park. Grand Park is the park right across from the DTLA City Hall and features a beautiful water fountain/sculpture, plenty of open areas for kids to play, has a Starbucks (hello pumpkin creme cold brew!), and open grass area. The temperature is at a perfect high 70s.

A good picnic requires: light bites, games, GOOD music, and some drinks (if you’re 21+). While bringing a regular sized bottle of wine never hurt anyone, how much more convenient are personal bottles?? You don’t have to worry about bringing cups and wasting spilling any of the goods. These Jam Jar 187s minis are the newest addition to the Jam Jar family and are the perfect traveling size for occasions on the go #SweetMiniMoment. My favorite is the Sweet Shiraz, which is their sweet red wine. You can purchase Jam Jar wines here and get it delivered right to your door! If you’re really feeling up to it, below is a little recipe of mine that you can makes using these minis!

Visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)

LACMA is one of those staple places to visit on a visit to LA because it’s a combination of culture, and Instagram worthy photo opportunities. The lamps in front of the museum are the most iconic (and probably most photographed) places in LA. Admission varies on the day of the week (with weekdays being cheaper), but if you’re a student, you most definitely get a discount after presenting your student ID!

Play at Two Bit Circus in DTLA

Two Bit Circus is described as the first micro-amusement park. If you’re a gamer, you will probably LOVE this place. And even if you’re not a gamer, you’d still have a lot of fun here. There are different activities including an arcade, virtual reality, and interactive games and competitions. A lot of the activities are also around $30 bucks for a full play, and mid week (Tuesday-Thursday) is a great time to get even better deals.

Visit the Long Beach Pike

I used to come here so often when I was younger with my mom and sister and loved it! There’s a mini clothing outlet, a nice chunk of restaurants, and a mini pier, right on the harbor. During the day, you could rent out a boat and do a little sailing on the harbor, or keep it stationed and just enjoy with friends. And if you’re stationary, you can bring along your Jam Jar minis to enjoy the day even more ;).
