Black Lotus

Who would wear all black in over 90 degree weather?? But, a backless halter and woven pants make this outfit much more bearable than would seem. It sucks that sometimes it gets so hot that we have to store away our black clothes for the sake of feeling some type of cool relief. Black never goes out of season for me though, for anyone really. Best way to wear black in the blistering heat is to wear it minimally. Chiffon, light cotton, and mesh are perfect materials to pull off black in the heat. These pants are probably one of the most comfortable pair I own. Long flowy pants are statements for summer time and they don’t stick to your body! Woooo!
I finally got a chance to catch up with my good friend, Joy of IBIM Couture. This is a testament of meeting someone through social media who’s hella cool! Joy and I met through Instagram a few years back. She reached out to me to speak at an event she was putting on called Beneath Your Beautiful Campaign. The event was a fashion show intertwined with a panel of style/beauty bloggers talking about topics from self-esteem to what to wear for different occasions. I loved the opportunity to share my own experiences with battling with self-esteem growing up and it shaping who I am today (a topic I will touch on in another post).
After the event Joy and I hit it off! We decided to finally get together again just to chat and catch up with the gist of each other’s lives.
