Berry Smokey Eye and Tinted Lips

Fall has officially become my “experimental makeup” time. Since the weather in LA has actually been acting like the current season we are, it’s been fun testing out different looks that I normally wouldn’t think of rocking. For today’s look, I wanted to try a berry smokey eye look that was day time appropriate. When you think of a smokey eye makeup look, you’re usually thinking of something that can be worn for a night out on the town. But I wanted this look to be neutral enough to be worn in the daytime while still giving off the drama that a usual smokey eye does.Products Used:

Colourpop’s Fem Rosa Eyeshadow Palette & Super Shock Shadow in Mooning and Seeker | Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in 6W1 Sandalwood | ABH Foundation in Earth | LA Girl Pro Concealer in Fawn | Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter in Moscow Mule/Ginger Binge | Jordana Lipliner (similar) | NYX Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabiberry smokey eyeEYES

Using a fluffy blending brush, I applied the super shock shadow in the color Seeker (a rusty brown shade) from Colourpop to my crease to act as a transition color. I then applied the berry shade from the Fem Rosa She palette (color “Missy”) to deepen the crease and give that flushed runway fall look. I swept this color in a windshield wiper motion right in my crease with a more tapered blending brush. Since the brush is tapered, it allows for product to be densely applied in the crease.

Once my crease was blended out, I used my index finger to apply Mooning from Colourpop onto my lid. For these shimmery super shock shadows, the best way I get max color payoff is using my fingers. Using a brush only moves the product around without it really adhering to your lid. I placed this color all over my lid and applied it close to my crease to make the transition seamless.

I applied the same berry shade to my lower lash line. For a little more dimension to my upper lid, I took a gel eyeliner in black and smudged that on my upper lash line and faintly winged it out.

LIPS

Thanks to Instagram, and Jackie Aina, I wanted to try this popular K-beauty trend for this look. The look focuses on concentrating the main color in the center of your lips. Next, you apply a lighter color of your choosing around the rest of your lip. This definitely gives that flushed look. For this look, I used a burgundy/berry lip liner. I applied NYX Abu Dhabi around my lip to create that diffused effect.

For foundation, I used the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in 6W1 Sandalwood. I highlighted my face with LA Girl’s Pro Concealer in “Fawn” and contoured with Anastasia Beverly Hills foundation in “Earth”. I used Fenty Beauty’s Killawatt Moscow Mule mixed with Ginger Binge duo highlight across my cheekbones and temples.

How do you guys like this berry smokey eye look? Something that you would try out??

Until next time…
