What a year 2023 was! I did a shopping fast in the first quarter which helped to drive my shopping habits for the remainder of the year. On top of that, I was also in budget mode, so I became very specific about the things I wanted to add to my closet. With that said, here are my 10 favorite clothing items I wore/bought/received in 2023 and why I love them so much.

This ASTR the Label Blazer and Mini Skirt set was gifted to me by the brand at the beginning of September for an event they were hosting. I’ve worn both together and separately many a times since then, including this look featured in this post! I knew I could make it work for the colder temps out here in LA with more warmer pieces. Overall, I love how the mini skirt makes my legs look and the color of this set is perfect.
When the Brandon Blackwood Jasmine Bag initially dropped, I dropped the ball and waited one minute too long to check out. I was fashionably devastated. Until the brand announced a restock 6 months later. I set an alarm and made sure that I placed my order immediately! And so happy I did because this purse is beautiful! I love the vinyl leather used and the gold hardware has just the right amount of shine.
Although I kept my bag purchases to a minimum this year, I did get this Staud Beaded Bag right in time for the summer and could not get over the detailing! In the summer, I like to add in pops of color (or full colorful monochromatic looks) and this bag was a great way to still have a colorful moment with a neutral outfit.
Speaking of Staud, I shopped their sample sale earlier in the year and picked up this double split linen skirt. It was one of those “I hope this fits because I don’t have the energy to try it on right now”. Lucky for me, it did and it was one of my fave summer pieces to wear. Ready to bring it back out once the weather gets warm!
A black belt is a staple for any wardrobe and last year, I really needed an upgrade to the one I had been wearing prior. This one from Sézane is a winner in my book because it has everything I was looking for when wanting to upgrade. The width is just right, the hardware is the perfect muted gold color and the leather is more matte, making it versatile for different looks!
When me and my friend Yvette were asked to do a campaign with Naturalizer, part of me was hype because any opportunity to receive shoes is always a great opportunity to me. The campaign was focused on their boots and these particular knee high boots were the ones that I found myself loving the most (and also the ones I’m wearing in these photos). They are wide calf friendly and I love the shaft height, as it works with a lot of different outfit silhouettes. Whenever I wear them, I always get the most compliments too!
Although Bottega tear drop earrings made its waves this year, the dupes also did what needed to be done! These earrings have probably been my most worn all last year. They work with every look and added just enough to elevate my outfits, like this I’m wearing here. I ended up receiving a silver pair from another brand and I just recently picked up this jumbo pair from Meshki. Tear drop earring supremacy all 2024!
I pre-ordered these Hanifa Wide Leg Aster Jeans in April, and when they finally arrived in July my excitement could not be contained. The side calf cut outs were the icing on the cake an although I normally wouldn’t go for a colored jeans, these ones were a necessity to add to the closet. I’ve found that they can work with other black pieces, which makes this great to wear in the winter time. Definitely worth the investment and excited to find different ways to wear it in the Spring!
Realistically, I spend more days dressed a bit more casual and relaxed so I wanted to make sure that I had some elevated casual pieces in my wardrobe so that I can still look put together with minimal effort. Enter in these flared pants from Everlane that were gifted by the brand. Super comfortable fit with a zip side and stretchy waistband which I personally love for the days I’m running errands. I’ve worn it so many times this year but I recently styled it in this TikTok video late last year.
I received this BlankNYC Faux Fur Jacket right before the new year and it’s making this list based off of the sheer excitement I had when I opened the package! I saw it on a PR girlie when I went to a PR gifting suite back in November, and knew it had to be mine. So I shot my shot and asked them if they may have had any additional ones they could possibly send. Fast forward over a month later and it arrived at my mailbox! I love it so much and have already styled it (with more outfits in mind)!
Those are my pics for best in fashion 2023. I am no longer putting myself in a box when it comes to fashion and styling. So here’s to having more fun in 2024 with getting dressed up!
Until next time…
