Today’s post is all about concealer! I would put myself in the intermediate stage of the art of concealing. Again, I am not a pro makeup artist by any means but, for that flawless look, every person who wears makeup should own some form of concealer (and setting powder for that super “Phresh Off the Runway” look).
My all time favorite budget friendly concealers are these babies from L.A. Girl. These Pro Concealers are only $4.99 a pop. You can find them at your local beauty supply store or sometimes even at some local boutiques. Or you can get them straight from the site. The colors I have are for different uses which I’ll explain below.
I use this shade as a color corrector. I learned this trick from one of my favorite YouTube bloggers Jackie Aina (hey girl hey!). As women of color, we tend to have slight discoloration around the perimeter of our mouth (usually darker than the rest of your facial complexion). This shade helps to cancel out the discoloration and help to better blend in with your overall complexion. I also use this underneath my eyes before I put on any foundation/concealer or do any highlighting.
I use this to highlight underneath my eyes, the bridge of my nose, the center of my lower forehead, and my chin (if I am feeling something dramatic lol). Once I blend it out with a beauty blender, then I set all those areas with a translucent powder and let it bake.
I use this to clean up my eyebrows after filling them in. I usually only use this underneath my eyebrows for that crisp defined brow. I squeeze a little out of the tube to the back of my hand and use a brow brush to get a sharp line, and then blend that out with the brush, then with my index finger (the best blending tool on the planet)
I use this for a very very subtle contour. I personally feel like I have defined cheek bones already so I usually leave the heavy contouring to the pros. But this color does add a little depth to the perimeter of my face and my cheeks.
Hope you all are having the BEST DAY EVER!
