If you follow me across all of my other social platforms, you’ll know that I enjoy playing with makeup. As of late, I’ve been much more focused on base makeup versus eye looks, and the foundation is always CRUCIAL in determining whether I am satisfied with a look. I’m sharing my favorite makeup foundation formulas with you all, both matte and satin/dewy finish, below.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place: This is one of the OGs that I absolutely will never get over because of its amazing coverage and color payoff. Although it is matte and has a medium to full buildable coverage, it doesn’t feel like it’s sitting on your face and easily allows other products to blend in on top of it.
Uoma Beauty Say What Foundation: The formula from this Nigerian owned beauty brand is perfect for the upcoming summer days. Although it dries down matte, it applies seamlessly onto the skin, allowing for it to be built up to the desired coverage, before finally mattifying after a few minutes.
CoverGirl TruBlend Matte Made Foundation: If you are looking for a drugstore find that matches that of a more higher end foundation, then you’ve found your match with this CoverGirl foundation. It dries down to a soft matte, making it perfect for both dry and oily skin types. The coverage is medium, but buildable.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation: This formula is one that I am obsessed with. I first used it back in 2018 and was shocked at hown wonderfully it applied on the skin. It leaves a nice satin finish without it looking like an oil slick. Because it’s a medium coverage, you can determine how much to put on to get your desired look. I usually go for 2 pumps.
Lancome Tient Idole: My holy grail foundation since 2016. It’s been my tried and true and I will never let it go. It applies nicely on the skin and gives a very fresh faced look with a medium coverage. It can build up, but I would recommend keeping it a medium coverage to get the best overall look.
Wander Beauty Nude Illusion Foundation: I love mixing this foundation with my Lancome Tient Idole for the ultimate glowy look. But this could definitely be worn on its own for that dewy/fresh faced look. the coverage is medium and applies wonderfully with either a brush or a beauty sponge.
NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation: One of my favorites that always left a beautiful finish on my skin. I usually had to mix it with another foundation to get the proper tone, but it always left my skin with a healthy glow while still providing a level of matte-ness.
Hope you find this list of my favorite makeup foundation formulas helpful. Happy Shopping!
Until next time…
