The winter can mean dry and flaky skin. It’s during this time that I take the most precaution with keeping my skin as moisturized as possible. Even with oily skin, it is imperative that I keep my skin moisturized, to avoid any overproduction of oil to compensate. Overproduction of oil on your face can cause clogged pores, which leads to are best friends, pimples.
Below are my three holy grail (and sensitive skin proof) products that I use daily to ensure that I get the glowy skin during in the winter season:
This oil is quite literally one of my favorite skincare products…ever! I received my first one in a goody bag at an Honest Beauty beauty a few months back. After a week of use, I knew it would become a staple in my routine. I’ve purchased it an additional 3 times already since then. I use this day and night, right after washing and toning my face.
I consider this product to be somewhat of a serum, since I apply it after the oil and before I finish off with a thicker moisturizer (during my nighttime routine). I received this product in PR (along with some other new Aveeno products) and decided to first introduce this into my routine (again, sensitive skin problems). It’s such a lightweight product that instantly hydrates your face with just three drops.
I have my sister to thank for re-introducing me back into the Rose Water game. It’s such a refreshing boost to the skin and it leaves this gentle “glow from within” look on your face. You know how your skin just looks super nice and glowy after a solid workout. Rose Water is the alternative to that! I usually spritz about 3-4 pumps every day and night after I complete my entire skincare regimen. And refresh through the day as needed.
While all three of these products most definitely contribute to the health of my skin, at the end of it all, what you are consuming also plays a role. Drink your water, limit your sugar intake, reduce how much dairy is in your diet, eat your greens (kale is everything and more), and curb your sweet tooth with fruits (my personal fave is a watermelon).
Until next time…
