How I’m Defying Convention in 2019 w/ Reebok

Unless absolutely necessary, I usually opt for heels or a cute flat. So when tasked to style these shoes, initially, I felt like I couldn’t do it. I immediately thought “how would I even style something like this???” But that uncertainty is what made me want to embark on this collaboration even more.

LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST

I’m sure many of you can relate, but for years, I’ve allowed fear and uncertainty to hold me back from doing things. If I wasn’t familiar with it, I would rather not get myself involved in any way. But after my mom passed, I came to the realization that life is too short to live on the “comfortable/always knowing what’s going to happen” side of things (and this feeling was recently confirmed at a church service I went to…more on that later).I don’t know when my last day on earth would be. So, I want to experience all that life has to offer. I want to do all that I can to fulfill the purpose I have here on earth. I want to help people be better versions of themselves, the version that sits deep inside but is afraid to come out because of criticism. So in 2019, I’m vowing to do just that. I’m vowing to #SplitFrom the pack and my usual routine and go against the grain.I hope in turn I can be a better version of myself, and help others know that they can aspire to more. It may make some people uncomfortable. And that’s ok with me. I am finally ok with defying convention and tradition and living life on my own terms. Because at the end of the day, the only being I have to answer to, is God.
