LA is kind of playing with it’s version of “fall” at the moment. Yea, I’m talking about you 80 degree weather in the middle of October! But nonetheless, it’s fall and I’m sure there are a good chunk of you who are actually experiencing cold weather. So today’s post is all about how to build a fall wardrobe. I personally feel there are certain basics that everyone should have in their closet for this season (if you are able to). Without further adieu, let’s get right into it!
Firstly, you need some form of a longline coat. Whether this be a trench, a camel coat, or a duster, similar to one I’m wearing in this post, it’s a necessary staple to have in your arsenal. It’s the perfect piece that can provide just the right amount of warmth. And it can be styled in a variety of ways, depending on your preference. For today’s look, I went with a cinched waist look with a statement belt (as this coat is a bit thinner than a traditional camel coat).
ALDO SNAKESKIN BOOTS | ALDO HANDBAG (SIMILAR) | CORDUROY PANTS (SIMILAR) | CREAM LONGLINE COAT (SIMILAR)
A pair of black boots (ankle, knee high, or thigh high) is a necessary staple to have in your fall wardrobe. It can be paired with essentially every look and is a great shoe to “throw on” when you’re in a bind and not fully sure how to complete your look.
While thicker sweaters will always be a winner, it’s great to also have a thin sweater that you can easily layer with. These types of sweaters are great because you don’t run the risk of feeling too warm (we’re not in winter just yet), but if need be, you can always add on without looking bulky.
Corduroy pants are super comfy and give all the fall vibes. I’m wearing a pair that I’ve had for a little over a year now that I snagged at Zara. Corduroys automatically makes an outfit look fall appropriate, so it’s definitely a needed piece.
I’ve been on the hunt for a leather jacket that I can incorporate into my fall wardrobe. It’s a necessary staple that you can throw over just about anything and be on your merry way.
Get yourself a simple chunky scarf (one that’s a bit thicker) and you’ll always be happy when the temperature drops. I promise you. I love a good chunky scarf that I can wrap around my neck AND pull over my head to keep my ears warm.
Thanks for reading through and I hope this post is informative on how to build a fall wardrobe!
Until next time…
