You guuuysssss! It’s almost my favorite time of year and I am itching to share this holiday content with y’all! BUT, before I jump my horses, today’s post is all about the beauty of mixing prints. Who here has felt victimized by print mixing???
*slowly raises hand*
TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST, I LOVE A GOOD SOLID COLOR PALETTE WHEN IT COMES TO MY OUTFITS
But, I’ve come to find that mixing prints is fun! It’s the opportunity to experiment with different patterns and shapes and see what works best on your body. And it also gives some outfits a level of “oomph” that solid colors just don’t give.
For today’s look, I actually went through a variety of different shirt options before settling on this striped number . Besides the satin feel this top has, I love the contrast of stripes on the body and the hem of the sleeves.
ANIMAL PRINT HAS TAKEN OVER THIS STYLE SEASON AND I AM NOT COMPLAINING!
I absolutely love it! This midi snake print skirt at Zara immediately caught my eye while I was helping a friend do some shopping one day. And it was at that moment that I knew it had to be mine. The number of outfits I could make with this piece ran through my head so I knew it was worth it to buy (and at only $40, definitely a steal!).
The beauty about Zara is how quickly they switch up their product lines. I mean, it’s almost insane. But sometimes, it can be a little discouraging. Because if you don’t pick up an item that you like, more than likely it’ll be gone by the time you go back (trust me, this has happened to me on more than one occasion).
I just want to share with you guys that, I have been in a very weird place lately. And while I try not to self diagnose myself, I think I have a somewhat clear understanding of what I am dealing with right now. But, I am in the process of searching for a therapist who can confirm or deny that.
The one thing that keeps me going is creating. Being able to create content is extremely therapeutic for me and I am grateful that I have the means to continue to do so. It does still take a nice chunk of effort to get in the mood to do it. Because most days, I rather just stay curled up in bed. But I have a vision of where I want this to go, and that vision keeps me pushing (plus, asking God for daily strength).
All this to say, if you’re noticing that something’s off, take time to address it and don’t be scared to seek out help. In my post about mental health, my good friend Peace shares some tips to help you acknowledge what you’re feeling and how to get help.
Until next time…
