It’s no secret that I am truly a sucker for jeans. I have a YouTube video with my collection (that has since grown since then) and I’m always sharing on my Instagram whenever I make a new purchase. It’s something about a really good pair of jeans that make me feel THE MOST confident. This is not to say that I don’t have confidence when I don’t wear them. But, when I am wearing a really great pair of beautifully fitted jeans, it does something for me. Enough about my declaration of love for all things denim. In this post, I’ll be talking about my favorite styles and linking some options for your viewing buying pleasure.
This is the pair (gifted) I am wearing in this post and it’s one of the most universally flattering style. I prefer a more tapered straight leg versus the traditional skinny leg, so I find myself always gravitating to these type of jeans. I also love the raw hem detail on this pair that adds just enough of a flair. I have another pair from Zara that has a little more thigh room but is also one of my favorite pairs I own.
The dad jean is essentially the straight leg jean style with a bit more leg room and a more relaxed feel. It has been on trend for quite a bit now. This style gives the relaxed model off duty look, which I love. It can be dressed up or down and really helps to elevate your traditional jean and tee outfit.
This has become one of my favorite styles in both the cropped and full length version because of how universally flattering it is. This style tends to be tighter at the waist and hugs the hips, then slowly starts widen out as it hits the mid to lower thigh and then is completely loose past the knee. i recently bought a pair from, you guessed it, Zara and it’s in the perfect dark wash for Fall.
I have been living for this style lately and as a West Coast native, I find that it’s one that could likely last a good 9 out of the 12 months, so in my mind, it’s worth the buy! With most of my jeans, I prefer a more relaxed fit, especially when it comes to shorts. I also prefer that they hit slightly above the knee, so I have to take into account my height (5’8″).
I’ve talked about this style in an earlier blog post and linked some shopping options in that post.
