I have caught myself in the state of comparison so many times now it’s hard to keep track. Yes, I post about being self-confident and going at your own pace, but I would be lying if I said that sometimes I tend to not take my own advice. I think we are all a little guilty of that. It’s so easy to dish out advice to someone on how they should be living but when it comes to straightening things out in our own lives, we make up a million thousand excuses as to why we are “different”.
Or maybe it’s just me. Either way, comparison is inevitable. It’s just one of those things that is bound to happen every so often. I think the key is fostering a state of healthy comparison, like comparing where you once were to where you want to go. In my case, with this blog, I compare my past pictures to my most recent ones. I even compare post to post. Some post are generally better received than others. And that’s ok with me.
I look back and see what I need to improve on and how to work with what I currently have (like, I really would like another lens but I am trying to decide if it’s worth the investment, or if it’s smarter to just hire a photographer). I say this to show that I am human just like you all lol. Comparison happens yall!

Great post! And precisely what was on my mind this morning!
I hope you don’t mind if I use the title “Compare and Contrast” for my next post? :)
