Pink Bomber and Wide Leg Pants

For the past couple of days, people have been commending me on being able to still do the things I used to do while still mourning the loss of my mom, and it got me thinking…1-final-edit-blog-photos img_1992-1img_1988-1

I remember always saying how, if I ever lost my mom, my life would be over, like literally over. There would be no point in me even doing anything anymore because my biggest support system and cheerleader wouldn’t be there to root me on. Give me the encouragement I need from the sidelines. To say a prayer with me when I doubted myself. To be the voice of reasoning when I was being a bit irrational. Yet, here I am, doing things without any of that. And I miss it, a lot.

I am by no means some sort of special person because I’m still pushing through with this thing called life. Her photo sits on my desk. Every day I wake up and just take a few minutes to look at her. I don’t say anything, because I still don’t have much to say. Some days I don’t feel like doing a thing, but lay in bed and be sad and mad. Other days, I want to get out the house and explore and enjoy the present with my sister. It’s all I can do at the moment and it’s weird feeling, no doubt about it. But I have to keep swimming. I have to.

I would’ve never thought to pair this pink bomber with these wide leg pants but it just made sense once I tried it on. It adds a bit of casual to an outfit that is otherwise dressy. Can you tell I have this theme going on for mixing casual and dressy. Dresual, Cassy…ok, maybe those pairings don’t work, but, they work in reality!
