Thank you to the Redondo Beach Hotel for collaborating on this post.
Not everyday stay at home, some days go stay somewhere else. Last weekend I had the opportunity to take a staycation in Redondo Beach and stayed at The Redondo Beach Hotel. This was my first ever comp hotel stay and let me just say, I was excited af. Although I’ve been feeling some type of way about blogging lately, I will say that moments like these make me appreciate it a little more. Being able to experience things like this with my right hand girl, my sis. We’ve been wanting to do a staycation for some time now after the whirlwind that was 2017. I took it upon myself to “shoot my shot 2018” and was able to land this collaboration (and putting myself out there is pretty hard so I was pumped)!

The Redondo Beach Hotel is a boutique hotel housed under the Pacifica Hotel brand that has boutique hotels all over the California, with a nice number of them in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The hotel is located right across from the marina (the room we had overlooked the marina which was surrounded by all these palm trees) in Redondo Beach right off of Pacific Coast Highway. One thing I’ve always loved about the South Bay is how close all the beach cities are to one another. A 15 min bike ride put my sister and I in Hermosa Beach, and I am pretty sure if we kept going, we would’ve hit Manhattan.
This hotel has a washer/dryer room, heated pool and jacuzzi, gym, breakfast (and not that continental stuff…like actual breakfast), a spacious terrace (for events, or soaking up the sun), and my favorite, BIKES! We were given two complimentary bike rentals which my sister and I enjoyed on Saturday. The fact that the hotel has this is a perk in my eyes. Especially because it’s so close to the beach, it makes sense to take advantage of using their bikes rather than having to lug one around from another location. The hotel does not offer room service, but there are a number of restaurants within a mile of the hotel, including the Cheesecake Factory, Sea Level Restaurant + Lounge, and Joe’s Crab Shack, with a number of those overlooking the marina.
The room was just enough space for my sister and I. It featured a king size bed, a work table, a love seat with the cutest side table/chess set (I once knew how to play, but yea, definitely not anymore). I loved the personalized touches that it had (I’m a sucker for handwritten notes so this was such a cute gesture). I am also sucker for hotel bathrooms. I don’t know what it is but I think I get more excited about that than the room itself. Most important to me, a shower with GREAT water pressure, and this one did not disappoint. As soon as I was unpacked and settled in, I turned to my sister and said “I’m taking a shower, simply for the water pressure”, and it felt like I was getting a mini spa treatment. The hotel also provides towels specifically for pool use which I think was a considerate touch.
Overall, my stay here was just what I needed. We are still in the first quarter of the year but I am strong advocate of taking time to regroup and realign every few months. Taking the time to drive out to Redondo and just relax was exactly what I was needed. I didn’t have any set plans once I got there, which is exactly how I wanted it to be. I took some time to relax by the pool and reflect, stuffed my face with as much food as I could (because why not), and spent QT with my sister which I can always appreciate. Another thank you to the staff of the Redondo Beach Hotel for being so accommodating and welcoming.
Until next time…
