Striped Top + Pink Midi Skirt

One thing I love about clothing items is that they can be reworked in a number of ways to create a completely different look. For one, it makes more use out of clothes that you think you can only wear once in awhile. Secondly, you get more bang for your buck. No more guilt for those impulse purchases!

Reworking items is a fun challenge, kind of like playing Sudoku. It almost forces you to think outside of the box. I knew I would want to wear this Fashion Union 2-in-1 dress I’ve styled before, and decided to turn it into a pink midi skirt. Additionally, I’ve already told myself that I would be wearing off-the-shoulder well into the Fall. This black and white striped number is the perfect billowy top made for those very hot days. It complements this “skirt” nicely too!

Now for the shoes! I took some inspiration from @missenocha and decided to DIY some heels of my own. I used a pair of basic white sandals that a friend gave me a while back. Removed the strap and added the lace up (I used a 2 piece belt purchased from my local thrift store). The faux pearl beads used for the strap and the lace up is from Michaels. And voila! A whole new shoe!

Hope you all are enjoying this last day of September. This year is literally flying by!
