One of my favorite aspects of an LA winter is having the chance to bring out all my cute coats. If you invest in a good coat, it’ll last you years to come and you’ll find that styling it in so many different ways will ensure your CPW (cost per wear) stays low. For me, this is one of my favorite ways that I’ve styled this Abercrombie Dad Coat that was gifted to me by the brand a few years back. This coat is absolutely a crowd favorite because it gets compliments every single time I wear it. Besides how classic it looks, it’s also perfect to layer with over a sweater since the sleeves are wider and the body of the coat has an oversized cut.

For this look, I went with one of my favorite sweaters, this oversized open knit that I purchased from H&M toward the end of winter back in 2022. I’ve worn it SO MUCH to the point where my sister has commented that this must obviously be my favorite. When thinking about putting together an outfit, I usually like to focus on one item and finding pieces that compliment that item. For the vibe I was going for, these cargo jeans just made the most sense with this sweater. I love how relaxed and baggy they are, but still keeps its shape. Cargo jeans have been having their moment for the last 2 years and I don’t think the trend is going anyway anytime soon.

Style Tip: Pull colors from your coat and use accessories to highlight. For this look, although the coat pulls gray, it’s really a mixture of black and off white threads woven together. So for my accessories, I focused on the black, while my sweater helped to highlight the off white, making this look cohesive

Finally, I tied the look together with black and gold accessories. My fave black purse from Brandon Blackwood perfectly matched these Zara pumps. When it comes to baggy pants or jeans, a pointed toe pump will always look great! The peekaboo action with the chain detail really helps to tie the look together. I mentioned in my Best in Fashion 2023 post that I purchased these jumbo tear drop earrings from Meshki recently and I love them! They are lightweight and and really finalized the look I was going for.
