Happy Post-Thanksgiving everyone!! Hope that you had the chance to spend the day with with your loved ones and shared what you’re most thankful for this year.
Below are a few things that I am thankful for this year:
Being able to travel to India for the first time
An eye opening experience that seriously made an impact on the way I view things. You never realize how amazing you have it (even with all the obstacles that you encounter) until you meet people who are without a fraction of what you have.
Blogging
I have always mentioned how this blog was started as a means to just express my love for clothes. Although this year my blog has become more of a full time gig than a hobby, I can admit that in the past few months, I lost sight of why I started it in the first place. I was so focused on generating more followers and making sure that I was following the unspoken blogger outline that blogging started to feel more like a chore. After some reflection, I realize that I needed to chill and get back to the core reasons I started this. I am thankful for the opportunity to even share a passion of mine with you all. I love this and I can’t wait to continue in this journey!
Those who take the time to engage with my posts
Seriously, I appreciate you all! The one or two comments here makes my day because it just shows that you all took the time to write a comment. You’re the reason I find the motivation to take pictures and have had the urge to open and share more of my life with you guys
Tackling my first semester of my last year of grad school
Let’s be real…grad school is NO JOKE. My first year was a whirlwind and I felt myself always trying to keep my head above water. This year I am SOOOOO thankful to say that I am not as stressed out. Prayer really makes a difference!
The gift of understanding and patience
I was quite impatient before…but God! I don’t get annoyed easily anymore. I try to approach situations rationally rather than based on what I am feeling at the moment. I still have some work to do but I can appreciate the progress
Familia!
My momma and my sister. We always term ourselves the three musketeers because we have been through it and back, again and again. But each time we come out stronger and ready to tackle on the next obstacle. Their support and encouragement with this venture always makes me emotional because they root for my success more than me sometimes. Being away from home makes seeing them during holidays and breaks even sweeter!
Friends
My girls, my line sisters, they are truly the best! Whenever I’m feeling down and out, they are always there to pick me back up. I try my best to take time out to Thank God for blessing me with the circle I have. I honestly don’t know how life would be if each individual in my life wasn’t there.
Hope you all have a great weekend and if you’re planning to do any Black Friday shopping…goodluck!
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” 1 Peter 2:9
Love this. I’m glad your experience in India has given you perspective. People aren’t aware of how essential experiencing the world is for growth. I need to spend less time shopping so I gave and learn a few things myself! It’s tough finding that balance between spending and saving :(… also, yes to everything you said about blogging!
