Mixing prints can be intimidating, but when it’s done well, you feel like such a boss. So I’m sharing 3 Key Tips on Mixing Prints.
The first key to mixing prints is to pick prints that have 2 similar colors in them. With this top and blazer, they share two common colors: black and gold. So when paired on top of one another, these colors can play off each other and tie everything together.
You also want to make sure that you’re mixing prints that are of different sizes. This blazer has very small flowers printed on all over. The leopard bodysuit has a larger (and more minimal) print. The larger and smaller print complement each other and are not an eye sore.
The final key to perfecting a mixed print look is to have all the accessories complement a color in the outfit. I chose black earrings and black shoes to play off of the black in the top and blazer. For the bag, a black purse would’ve brought down the entire look, so I went with mustard yellow, which, if you look closely at the blazer, you can see hints of mustard throughout. Wearing this purse helps to make that color in the blazer a bit more visible.
And those are my 3 Key Tips to Mixing Prints! Hope this is helpful for you all! Do you shy away from mixing prints?? I wanna know!
Until next time…
