I am a huge component of the “treat yourself” movement. Honestly, it’s necessary. It’s great when someone else treats you to something unexpectedly, but it feels even better to take some time out to give yourself a little something something. Below are a few ways that I treat myself:
I don’t know what it is but flowers always puts a smile on my face. I love the femininity it adds to my room once it’s in a vase on my desk. My best friend and I were hanging out and all of a sudden I felt the need to buy myself these pretty pink flowers, so naturally, they were going to be included in today’s post haha. You’ll be surprised how a simple gesture for yourself can brighten your day. Get up, go to your local grocery store or florists, and buy yourself a nice bouquet of flowers.
This is something I can definitely do more of. Get your nails done, set up that hair appointment, get a massage, take a stroll in your city, put that full face of makeup on. Just do something that you normally wouldn’t have the time to do throughout the week. It’s so relaxing when you take your mind off of the everyday happenings.
This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Shopping is the ultimate “Treat Yourself” option. On days where I want to congratulate myself for doing well on a test or on finishing up that huge assignment (don’t act like you’ve never done it), I prefer to shop alone. I get a sense of peace when I’m in my thoughts, looking through racks, and having the moment to focus on myself for a little. Ok, so maybe I’m making shopping sound way more deeper than it is but, they don’t call it retail therapy for nothing.
