ENJOYMENT! is the theme for this summer and honestly, I’m embracing it with open arms. I am 100% vaxxed (Pfizer gang!) and I feel great. I made a vow to experiment with my style a bit, adding pieces that I traditionally gravitate towards but mixing it up with items that I normally would shy away from. This post will be focused on what I’ll be wearing this summer 2021!
Sets are an oldie but a goodie for me. I have loved 2 piece sets for as long as I can remember and with each passing year, the styles sort of change up and I find myself still loving the new looks that come out of them. This year, I’m really loving the flowy pieces, specifically pant sets that cascade to the ground and lightly hug the figure. This particular one from NA-KD is a fave because it falls perfectly on my frame and the length of the pants elongates my legs (I’m already tall, but a little extra height doesn’t hurt anyone). Thinking about snagging the black version because it’s THAT good!
Now, I know knit for the summertime doesn’t really sound like it makes sense, but, when done properly, it’s definitely a vibe and can keep you cozy just enough for those days when the sun is blazing down. Enter in this knitted halter dress from Rumours. I am obsessed! Saw this advertised on Instagram (yep, the IG ads got me) and immediately wanted it! It fits perfectly (wearing a Large here) and the print of the knit is everything!
This knitted halter from Zara was a surprising find and one I didn’t expect to love as much as I do! It feels so comfortable and I love the wrap detail. The halter style is one that I am also embracing this season! Although this top is sold out online, I’m linking some more knitted top options below!

Although printed pieces have been pretty trendy this season, I like to make sure that even when I buy a trendy piece, it’s something that I could wear past it’s “trendy” stage. These structured split hem cheetah print leggings from Norma Kamali are a perfect example! I’m wearing a medium here and they fit perfectly. They feel great against the skin and are a nice length (for all my taller girls). If you are shorter than me (5’8″), these may potentially be a bit too long unless you’re wearing a certain height heel. But nothing a tailor can’t fix!
In the spirit of adding more color to my closet, the first place I usually start is with accessories. I am a sucker for a both and gravitate towards those when I am looking to mix things up. I find that starting here has allowed me to really get comfortable with more statement colors in my clothing. Here I am wearing a Brandon Blackwood purse (this collection has been discontinued). This Mango baguette purse adds a nice pop of color to any look!
There’s probably much more that I’ll be incorporating into my closet this season. But for now, this is what I’ll be wearing this summer 2021! Thanks for reading!
